CemenTrade Africa 2023 focused on the theme of "Decarbonizing the African Cement Industry." The summit brought together industry leaders from across the continent to discuss how Africa can leapfrog traditional carbon-heavy methods and adopt low-clinker cement solutions to support its rapid urban growth.

AsianCAA shared lessons from Asia’s own period of rapid infrastructure development. During the discussions, the association shared insights on how African producers can effectively utilize fly ash to reduce clinker factors. This knowledge transfer is essential for helping the African industry lower its CO2 footprint while meeting the soaring demand for building materials.
